Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Tax Credit Services, the Estimator is responsible for calculating the tax credits of various production subsidiaries (\xe2\x80\x9cProdCos\xe2\x80\x9d) on behalf of EP\xe2\x80\x99s clients in the film and television industry. The main duty of the Estimator is to assist the Financial Analyst team with preparing tax credit estimates within a set timeframe, by correctly identifying the qualifying costs of each Production.
The Estimator duties must be performed consistent with the company\xe2\x80\x99s mission and values and adhere to EP\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze new film and TV projects production budgets to prepare tax credit estimates and quotations.
- Prepare interim tax credit estimates using costs to date, ETC\xe2\x80\x99s and open POs as requested by EP\xe2\x80\x99s clients.
- Communicate with Studio Executives and Production Accountants to confirm all assumptions with respect to qualifying costs and bonuses are accurate.
- Work with the Financial Analyst assigned to each project to review any eligible provincial tax credit bonuses.
- Prepare draft letters based on tax credit estimates to be used by studio financiers.
- Present tax credit estimates to EP\xe2\x80\x99s clients.
- Input estimate data into company database.
- Support the Client Services Coordinators, when required, by providing internal estimates for federal and provincial government certifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor, Tax Credit Services.
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Registered or intending to register in the CPA program.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task/time-manage and meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in an estimator role
- Experience in the film and television industry
