POSITION SUMMARY
As a Junior Accountant at our software sales and consulting firm, you will support a range of financial and operational activities that ensure the smooth functioning of our day-to-day business for both Canadian and U.S. activities. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience across core accounting functions, including transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, and customer quotations. You will help maintain accurate financial records, assist with periodic closes, and contribute to general administrative and operational support as needed. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a solid foundation in accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and a desire to grow in a dynamic, tech-enabled environment. Success in this role requires a quick learner with a proactive mindset and a sharp eye for detail, capable of adapting to new tools and processes while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Perform data entry and process vendor invoices and employee expenses for both Canadian and U.S. entities.
Conduct bank reconciliations and assist in preparing basic financial reports across multi-currency accounts.
Maintain and update financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with Canadian and U.S. accounting standards.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Generate and manage quotations for recurring customers based on provided templates and pricing guidelines, tailored to regional requirements.
Track and manage recurring financial transactions (e.g., subscriptions, retainers).
Support administrative and clerical tasks related to finance and operations in a cross-border business environment.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial workflows and compliance with local tax and reporting obligations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internships included).
Familiarity with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software used in multi-entity or mult-currency environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles & practices in Canadian and U.S. contexts
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
Preferred
Experience in a technology or consulting business environment with international or North American operations.
Basic knowledge of ERP systems and document management tools.
Understanding of sales processes and customer billing cycles and tax implications in both Canada and the U.S.
