An introduction to short form broadcast and multimedia journalism. Students will write, film, and edit multimedia news content focused on daily events and issues of public importance. They will be exposed to the expectations of professional newsrooms, including an emphasis on daily deadlines, news judgment, and multitasking across platforms.
Position Requirements
Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor of Journalism degree or equivalent in a related discipline. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated effectiveness in journalism instruction, recent and relevant professional experience, and those with practical experience and knowledge in broadcast, print, and multimedia news production.
The School of Journalism defines "recent and relevant professional experience" as working experience in the field of journalism within the last four years, and a minimum of three years of professional experience in the specific medium or method applicable to the course.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills; comprehensive knowledge of journalistic practices; and a demonstrated commitment to, and enthusiasm for, teaching.
