Who Are You?




Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Jr. Production Planner is responsible for managing the overall corporate production plan for the Langley branch. The Production Planner will take a lead role in ensuring operational stability for the facility, as well as promoting continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation through the application of ISO principles and Lean concepts.

What Will You Do?



Promotes workplace safety and creates a safe and secure work environment to protect the health and safety of workers; ensures that they are not endangered at work Complies to all safety regulations, policies and procedures Communicate with staff and vendors to coordinate production planning activities and ensure that customer requirements are being met. Advise General Managers regularly on capacity availability, delivery expectations, and operational issues Extend all efforts to ensure that customer requirements are being satisfied Provide ship dates and production lead times for sales Schedule, create and issue production orders based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity Develop and maintain production planning schedules, spreadsheets and reports Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components Monitor work order progress and adjust schedules as required to address delays, equipment breakdowns or staffing issues Communicate with branch leaders to coordinate priorities, resources (labor and material) and activities, within or between branches, that enable an accurate production schedule for the facilities Utilize ERP / MRP systems to manage work orders, inventory levels, and capacity planning Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement Collaborate with relevant Managers to minimize production bottlenecks, increase product margin, reduce delivery lead time, and improve customer satisfaction Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and streamline production processes Performs other duties as required

Sound Familiar?



Degree in Operations or Management preferred, or combination of related post-secondary education and manufacturing planning experience Proven manufacturing experience Experience assessing production processes for efficiency and implementing solutions Must have a good understanding of products and services Must have a good understanding of the technical sales process and cycle Must have an in-depth knowledge of the production cycle with the organization In depth working knowledge of ERP manufacturing systems; Working knowledge of TQM, ISO, project management principles would be beneficial Strong adaptable interpersonal skills Effective understanding and communication skills - speaking, listening, and writing Proficient computer skills - advanced planning and scheduling ERP software, MS Office Suite Process thinker with "big picture" vision Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills Methodical, logical problem solving capabilities Excellent facilitation and presentation skills Self-starter motivated to manage his or her time effectively and productively Strong work ethics (attendance, punctuality, reliability, honesty, etc.) Attentive to details Great team player or independent performer Adapts to change readily
