Job Description

There is an entry-level Financial Analyst position available through Robert Half with an industry leading company. The Financial Analyst provides daily support to the accounting and finance departments, in addition to performing routine assignments and solving standard problems with limited discretion. The Financial Analyst role demands a flexible individual comfortable with large amounts of information and adept at managing expectations. This Financial Analyst position would be a great opportunity for a passionate critical thinker that is solution-oriented. This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Toronto, Ontario area.Major responsibilities- Devise unique alternatives and solutions to reduce costs and elevate financial performance of a company- Maintain annual budgeting process- Comfortable assisting internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits- Secure and examine budgets and income statement forecasts- Manage several aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)- Assess conclusive results at the corporate and division levels- Encourage the monitoring and maintenance of internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements- Help out in the devising of monthly financial reporting and other business data- Contribute to ensuring adequate controls and procedures- Be able to clarify to non-financial staff members complicated financial subjects in special projects- Research and query large amounts of data- Less than one year of experience- Computer research experience preferred- Microsoft Excel experience- BA degree in finance or a related field- Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills- Experience in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)- Ideal candidate must have adept computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirementInterested candidates that match the necessary skills and are seeking their next great opportunity should contact us today!Robert Half is the world\'s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
