The Role

As a member of the technical services team based out of Cameco\'s corporate office in Saskatoon, you will report to the Sr Engineer, mechanical.

Supporting the Sr Engineer, you will provide mechanical engineering and technical solutions for mining, milling, process control problems and provide design support for smaller capital and expense projects. You will be performing various mechanical engineering and design tasks, performing preliminary equipment sizing, process piping, HVAC analysis and sizing, and updating and revising technical drawings, datasheets, and reports.

You are responsible for applying corporate policies, procedures, technical and safety standards, and regulations (Federal provincial, corporate and SHEQ) in your day to day work.

Required:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering. Registered as an Engineer in Training with APEGS or PEO
  • 2 years of experience in engineering, fabrication or construction would be an asset.
  • Performs various engineering tasks and assignments, including investigations, studies, mechanical equipment, and piping design and specifications, supporting development of drawings for cost estimation, construction, and supporting construction and commissioning.
  • Receives on the job training through regular design and engineering tasks and assists senior engineers in carrying out technical tasks using prescribed analysis, design, or computational methods.
  • A solid understanding of MS Office software is necessary, including proficiency in Excel. Experience with other software, such as AutoCAD, and mechanical analysis software will be an asset.
  • Interest and or experience in data driven smart 3D modelling, industrial automation, lean principles, and value engineering would be an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, and teamwork skills.
