Responsibilities
Assist in preparing construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate favorable terms.
Review construction drawings and technical documents to identify potential cost factors and risks.
Support the review of contracts, change orders, and scope adjustments to ensure accurate pricing updates.
Contribute to cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
Participate in bid meetings, presentations, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors to secure projects.
Maintain organized records of estimates, bid documents, and related correspondence for transparency and future reference.
Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, labor rates, and new estimating tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
Basic understanding of construction estimating principles, including cost analysis and pricing strategies.
Familiarity with estimating software
Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
Previous experience or exposure to construction site activities or construction management is a plus.
Knowledge of contracts, project management processes, and cost control techniques within the construction industry.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail when reviewing plans and preparing estimates.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Effective communication skills to clearly articulate estimates, assumptions, and project requirements.
