Our client is looking to fill a position as a Journeyperson Plumber:
A Journeyperson 1 position recognizes the individual\'s license in the Trade and recognizes his/her excellence in the various crafts of the trade. A Journeypersons\xe2\x80\x99s primary function is to support the needs of the project as identified by the Field Manager or a Journeyperson 2. A Journeyperson is responsible for the execution of trade work in a safe, professional, and efficient manner. A JP1 may be responsible to train and support Apprentices or other Journeypersons as directed by their Supervisor. Duties will include but are not limited to, plumbing, pipe fitting, cutting, coring, digging and trenching, measuring, layout, paperwork, and other similar tasks. A Journeyperson may, depending on the project staffing, also be responsible for other field duties as requested by their superior and can include items such as housekeeping, caulking, filing, organizing, receiving, material delivery to the work areas, etc
Performance Expectations General Expectations:

  • In addition to the Safety Training provided by the company, will proactively continue to learn and understand the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and MML safety policies through recommended reading provided by HR. \xe2\x80\xa2 Will continually review and understand their duties as \xe2\x80\x9cSupervisor\xe2\x80\x9d in the context of the Ontario Ministry of Labour legislation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Will act to warn or rectify any unsafe conditions. \xe2\x80\xa2 Will Supervise other Apprentices or Journeyperson when directed, in a manner consistent with Ministry of Labour and MML requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Is Punctual and Flexible with respect to the project requirements. \xe2\x80\xa2 Will review, understand, and follow all MML policies \xe2\x80\xa2 Will work with and maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees, management, the Client, and any other trades and authorities they meet.
Position-Specific Expectations:
  • Work can be carried out at various locations including construction sites, owner facilities, tenant facilities, and within MML facilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Receive and carry out work based on general instructions from their Supervisor \xe2\x80\xa2 A JP1 will ask questions to ensure they fully understand the scope prior to starting the work. \xe2\x80\xa2 Will concentrate on their work and ensure it is executed in a safe and professional manner, taking into account the safety of their helper(s) or other trades around them \xe2\x80\xa2 Will deliver professional quality work consistent with their Trade and within the allotted time frame defined by their Supervisor. \xe2\x80\xa2 Will provide technical guidance to those with less experience in a professional manner \xe2\x80\xa2 Will ensure that all necessary administrative and project-related paperwork is being filled out accurately and in a timely fashion \xe2\x80\xa2 As required, will communicate with other trades and the client to ensure smooth coordination of the work \xe2\x80\xa2 Will proactively continue to upgrade trade skills and technical understanding of building systemsSkill Qualifications \xe2\x80\xa2 Licensing / Red Seal in their specific trade and a member in \xe2\x80\x9cGood Standing\xe2\x80\x9d within their trade organization \xe2\x80\xa2 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License in good standing \xe2\x80\xa2 General MML in house training as specified for Apprentices and Journeyperson. (Note that these must be completed within 2 years of hire unless otherwise directed by management)
Skill Qualifications
  • Licensing / Red Seal in their specific trade and a member in \xe2\x80\x9cGood Standing\xe2\x80\x9d within their trade organization
  • Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License in good standing
  • General MML in-house training as specified for Apprentices and Journeyperson. (Note that these must be completed within 2 years of hire unless otherwise directed by management)
