To provide electrical/electronics expertise to support the installation and servicing of fuelling systems, associated monitoring systems and a variety of control systems related to flammable liquids.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Assist in the design of electrical/electronic systems
Select, in consultation with other staff, electrical/electronic components and suppliers
Install and commission high and low voltage wiring systems. It is anticipated that the incumbent will specialize in systems for hazardous locations. These systems may include:
fuel system power wiring
building wiring
wiring of signage and signals
fuel system monitoring electronics
fuel control systems
gas detection systems
Service and calibrate all the components noted above.
Keep abreast of new information on fuels and flammable liquids systems
Carry out rebuild work as used equipment for resale
Carry out mechanical repairs
Assist Petroleum Mechanics and Millwrights with their duties as required
Support the learning and development of an apprentice
Participate in emergency response teams as required
Other duties as may be assigned
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed Electrician in the Province of Ontario
Knowledge in explosion proof work.
Licensed Petroleum Mechanic in the Province of Ontario
Licensed Master Electrician in the Province of Ontario
Computer literate. Able to use a personal computer in daily tasks including PLC programming
Good organizational skills. The incumbent will be required to participate in several projects at the same time
Background in electronics and controls
Knowledge of the applicable electrical codes
Good communication skills, written and verbal. The incumbent is required to meet and communicate with clients and fellow team members
