Job Posting - Concrete Laborer / Lead Hand

$27.00-$45.00 per hour (plus overtime pay)

Octo Mechanical Inc. is seeking a skilled Concrete Laborer or Lead Hand with hands-on experience in concrete forming, carpentry, demolition, coatings, equipment foundations, and grouting. If you have a background in carpentry or millwright work--or a combination of both--we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for hardworking, reliable individuals with strong communication and organizational skills. Experience working on industrial plant sites and collaborating with other trades is a strong asset. Safety is our top priority, and we are seeking candidates with a proven track record of working safely in industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform carpentry and concrete work including: Forming footings and walls Installing anchor bolts Building staging and bracing Grouting and leveling plates Pouring and vibrating concrete Base/skid leveling Collaborate effectively with other trades on industrial projects Follow all safety guidelines and procedures at all times Maintain a clean, safe work environment Perform various labor tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly Work in specialized environments (confined spaces, heights) as required Other related duties as assigned
Education, Certifications & Requirements

Carpentry certification (or equivalent experience/apprenticeship) Mandatory safety tickets: H2S Alive CSTS 2020 WHMIS 2015 Standard First Aid Level C CPR & AED CSO or BSO Assets: Confined Space Entry and Fall Protection tickets Journeyman Machinist or Millwright certification Must pass a Police Information Check and Drug & Alcohol test
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

Proven carpentry skills with solid understanding of installation/construction methods Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety documentation, blueprints, and diagrams Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations Ability to work independently and in a team environment Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on safety Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Effective interpersonal and communication skills Physical strength, dexterity, and stamina to perform strenuous tasks
Schedule

12-hour shifts Day and night shifts available Monday to Friday, with overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
Compensation & Benefits

$27.00-$45.00 per hour (based on experience) Overtime pay available
