Position Overview

We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber with a valid Class B Gas Fitter Certification to join our growing team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing and gas systems across a variety of residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and focused on delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Plumbing Installation & Service

Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, fixtures).

Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues in homes, businesses, and facilities.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and adhere to BC Building Code.

Gas Fitting & HVAC Support

Install and service gas-fired appliances: boilers, furnaces, hot water tanks, fireplaces, stoves.

Complete gas line installs and pressure tests per Technical Safety BC and gas code standards.

Assist with HVAC and hydronic heating system installations, maintenance, and repairs.

Job Site Management

Plan and execute jobs independently or while supervising apprentices.

Maintain site safety and adhere to WorkSafeBC protocols.

Complete accurate documentation: work orders, gas permits, inspection reports, etc.

Communicate clearly with clients about job scope, recommendations, and timelines.

Qualifications

Red Seal Journeyman Plumber Certification (recognized by SkilledTradesBC).

Class B Gas Fitter Certification (Technical Safety BC).

Minimum 3-5 years of plumbing/gas fitting experience (post-certification preferred).

Solid understanding of BC Building Code & Gas Safety Regulations.

Strong troubleshooting, time management, and organizational skills.

Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Professional, courteous, and customer-focused demeanor.

Assets (Preferred but Not Required)

Cross-connection control certification.

Experience with hydronic or radiant heating systems.

HVAC-R servicing or installation experience.

WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, or similar safety certifications.

Experience supervising or mentoring apprentices.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $35 - $45/hr (depending on experience and specialization).

Overtime pay in accordance with BC Employment Standards.
