What you would be working on

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead (MTL), the Craft Team Member (CTM) is accountable to perform maintenance and troubleshooting activities within their skill set in support of safe, reliable operations. Work is guided by their MTL and the CTM works with other team members to deliver a combined maintenance schedule. Working closely with other craft disciplines as they execute repairs and perform preventative maintenance to deliver high reliability and efficient equipment care.

What you would be accountable for

Assists in the development of preventive maintenance systems, surplus program, maintenance practices and procedures, infrastructure (tools and equipment) and SAGE steam trap program.

Team player, being able to work within the team, other crafts & operations

Strong leadership skills able to self-direct as required by site priorities

Actively engaged in ensuring the safety of self and co-workers, providing, and accepting interventions to achieve Goal Zero and adheres to Shell Scotford policies and ShellaEUR(TM)s Life Saving rules

Verifies and performs work as requested on approved work orders, including follow up and sign off

Maintains process piping, vessels, and other related static equipment at Scotford

Provides feedback to planners, Specialists, and schedulers to help improve plan and schedule quality

Assists MTL with Preventative Maintenance forecasting/compliance and work order backlog management

Works with Maintenance Technical Support Team, Operations and Engineering Services on identified repeat failures, Root Cause Analysis and Reliability issues

Interfaces with Operations, other Craft Team Member Groups, and contractors

Troubleshoot cause of equipment problems and make repairs on piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and filters in conjunction with routine and preventive maintenance functions

Skilled in the use of power and hand tools

Makes sound decisions based upon maintenance guidelines and principles and works well with others under any situation.

Executes preventative and predictive maintenance programs

Provides input into production unit shutdown work scope and overhaul issues

Understands and follows Maintenance Execution Work Process practices and procedures.

Aids in integrity audits of equipment installations (for new projects).

Performs work in all business units and areas on an as needed basis

Interfaces with vendors, when required

Maintains a high standard of workmanship, safety awareness and housekeeping.

Maintains records and drawings

Provides and enters history for equipment repair and feedback to plans

Work with computer base maintenance systems like GSAP or Blueprint & One Note.

Will be required to participate in off shift coverage (nights & weekends), cold weather coverage & Turnaround support

What do we need from you?

Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Minimum 5 yearsaEUR(TM) experience in an industrial setting

Positive attitude and passion for continuous improvement

Must have a valid Alberta Steamfitter, Boilermaker Journeyperson ticket, Welder Journeyperson or be Red Seal certified

Dual trade ticket holder is an asset e.g., Pipefitter + Boilermaker, and or Welder.

Embraces technology including a strong digital skillset - Skill level understanding of Office 365 including OneNote and MS Teams, Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), P6 Team member and use of iPad are assets

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

High level of ownership for the quality and condition of the devices used to maintain safe unit operation

Facilitation and conflict resolution skills are an asset

Open and Honest

Self-motivated and demonstrates ability to perform under pressure

Desire to share, explore and deliver ideas that improve the business

Ability to learn from other and share learning's

Willingness to share knowledge with co-workers and train apprentices (mentor)

Must possess a valid driver's license

Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces

Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate

Participation in the Maintenance Callout system

Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level

Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)

Willing to comply with Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures

A condition of employment for this position is successful completion of a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, background check, driving record check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
