In-town work - Calgary: Requiring a qualified Journeyman to run medium/large Commercial projects.
Ability to work alone or as a team leader.
Mentor and coach apprentices, providing on-site direction and leadership to complete tasks within specific guidelines.
Ability to work with all types of electrical systems.
Fire Alarm experience is a strong asset.
Familiarity with conduit installation is required.
Commercial experience required.
Aptitude in reading blueprints and specifications.
Possess knowledge of building applications.
Responsible for planning, material management, time management, workmanship, and quality control.
Effective at problem-solving.
Basic computer knowledge and skills.
Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers professionally and courteously.
Physical strength and endurance sufficient for tasks related to commercial electrical construction and renovation projects.
Proficient knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
Health and safety awareness.
Class 5 driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (driver's abstract required).
A criminal record check will be required.
Job Duties:
Install, demolish, alter, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems (including fire alarm systems) in all types of buildings, structures, and premises.
Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings & specifications and apply applicable codes & standards to outlined scopes of work.
Perform necessary tasks during all phases of electrical construction and renovation from start-up to close-out.
Test circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
Efficiently plan and execute installations.
Schedule:
8-hour shift, 5 days per week,
10-hour shift, 4 days per week,
Evening shift (not often),
Weekends when required (not often),
