Position Overview:
Finning Canada is seeking experienced Journeyperson Gas Compression Technicians, to support our customers in and around Fort St. John on a 14 x 14 Shift rotation (5x2 shift available for locals). The Gas Compression Technician is responsible for repairs, maintenance and overhauls on natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments in the field. Experience with G3600 engines is a requirement.
Location: Fort St John
Shift: 14x14 continuous rotation, or 5x2 for locals
Logistics: Tooled Company Truck provided

:Troubleshoot, diagnose, overhaul and repair equipment related to Natural Gas Compression & Energy Power Generation: natural gas & diesel engines, compressors, generators and attachments
Maintain Finning's Customer Service Commitments, interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
Various related duties as required
Qualifications:Journeyperson Certification: Heavy Equipment Technician or Electrician or Millwright
Demonstrated experience with all makes of Gas Compression equipment (G3600 A4 )
Dedication to safety
Solid organizational skills with ability to prioritize and work independently, without supervision often in remote locations.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
Experience with commissioning is considered an asset
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
Gas Compression and Well Servicing experience is an asset
Non-Caterpillar experience such as Waukesha, Ariel, Cummins, etc is recognized as an asset
NOTE:
This position is located in Fort St. John on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
The wage is $58.96/hr plus 5% Regional Wage Allowance
Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
