LaPrairie Works Inc. is a diversified and growing civil maintenance and construction contractor with over 37 years of operating experience across Western Canada. Our core businesses include Mobile Crane & Rigging, Highway Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction, On / Off Highway Bulk Commodity Hauling, Specialized Heavy Hauling, Oilfield Services, Mine Contracting, Proppant Supply and Logistics, and General On-Site Services.

We are looking to expand our operations areas and are preparing a response to an RFP announced by Parsons Corporation for the Giant Mine Reclamation Project. We are looking for qualified professionals to join our Team should we be successful in procuring the contract for this project.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Journeyman Electrician will operate, repair, and maintain electrical components and systems throughout the site. The Journeyman Electrician will ensure that equipment is operating safely and within established limits and will conduct general maintenance, inspections, tests and repairs while maintaining full records of completed procedures. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Adhere to all Client and LaPrairie SOP\'s, policies and procedures, including health, safety and environment (HSE) polices.
• Ensure all employees and visitors adhere to all Client and LaPrairie SOP\'s, policies and procedures.
• Operate and maintain electrical components and systems of above ground, underground, and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) specific to secondary normal power.
• Operate and maintain electrical components and systems of above ground and underground specific to low voltage normal power.
• Keep and maintain documentation of inspections, tests, repairs, scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs to the satisfaction of AHJ.

• 3-5 years of related experience with maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Certified Journeyman Electrician status.
• Complete knowledge of electrical systems, power generation, blueprints, maintenance, and repairs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities.
• Capable of handling pressure and challenges.
• Comprehensive understanding of local, territorial, and federal construction regulations.
