Job Summary
CKDU 88.1FM is seeking a talented Journalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for local storytelling and uplifting community voices. As our Journalist, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and editing news stories to inform and engage our audience.
Duties
- Create a daily (M-F) "Top of the Hour" (2min max) segment, highlighting local news headlines
- Create two (300 word max) weekly written stories, to be posted on our website
- Host a one hour weekly on-air Friday morning news show
- Interview sources and gather information to support news stories
- Stay up-to-date with current events
- Collaborate with other team members to brainstorm ideas and improve content quality
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research abilities to gather accurate information
- Proficiency in proofreading and copy editing
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 22 per week
