Reporting to the Manager, Employment & Career Development Programs, the Empowering Youth through Employment (EYE) Program Job Developer will develop and coordinate one on one employment support geared towards youth participants and find work experience as well as job placements for them.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with youth participants from a variety of demographics (mostly newcomers and low-income citizens) to identify job targets and match client skillsets with the appropriate work experience and the host employer.
Provide individual client support to determine educational and previous work experience background and career goals.
Leverage business contacts and network of potential employers to enable work experience placement opportunities for clients
. Build New Employer connections to facilitate quality employment opportunities for youth clients.
Follow up with existing and potential employers to gauge future opportunities.
Discuss a work-experience / employment plan with clients based on their transferable skills and employment goals
Work with the clients individually on resume/cover letter touch up, assistance in the application process and interview preparation for clients.
Provide recommendations to clients on Social media and LinkedIn profiles
Provide recommendations on placement details such as hours of work, wages and benefits on offers of employment
Provide post-placement t support to assist clients in retaining employment post-work experience placement
Work closely with each client to maintain motivation
Motivate and guide clients to participate in problem-solving and critical thinking.
Critique and evaluate client performance and provide feedback for achieving success.
Record client sessions and prepare weekly reports for management, and update files when necessary.
. Work closely with the program team to coordinate program activities and support clients.
Others
Provide reports on a weekly and quarterly basis or as required and maintains current information on GCOS
Attend career fairs, trade shows and other events to represent TIES and network with potential employers
Attend internal and external meetings of the organization such as department's meetings, staff meetings and AGM.
Help other TIES programs and employees when needed
Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Supervisor

Education and Experience
The successful candidate would need to have a post-Secondary degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Human Services, or Marketing or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and transferrable skills. Minimum three years of work experience in HR and or recruitment is required.
