Job Development:
Work directly with Program Director and other Job Developers to support client in their journey towards employment
Assist with and oversee resume / cover letter preparation, mock interviews and accommodations planning (as needed)
Send out weekly job fair and job listings to all EDGE clients, assisting as needed in job fair registrations and job applications
Build relationships with employers for possible job placement or full /part-time employment
Fulfill tracking and reporting requirements using program soft ware and other programs
Maintain an organized electronic and paper filing system, allowing for easy retrieval of documentation
Provide support to clients (including external resources) to address barriers they may have to employment, providing required wrap-around supports
Assist clients in the completion of program documents, including career path documents, barriers assessment, ministry paperwork, surveys
Schedule and conduct client intakes, engaging with the client promptly right from the first point of contact and consistently throughout their journey with EDGE
Work collaboratively with clients to create and work through a customized Employment Action Plan
Maintain regulation communications and cadence of appointments with clients, ensuring effective engagement and documentation of all contact appointment in CRM
Operate in a manner which builds trust with client, demonstrating a deep understanding for client demographic
Demonstrate impeccable discretion to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive client and program information
Facilitation:
Support program soft-skills / other training and workshop facilitation
Outreach:
Develop and steward relationships with organizations who may employ job seekers and refer clients to the EDGE program
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in social work, community services or community development
2-4 years' experience working as Job Developer
2-4 years' experience facilitating workshops, delivering trainings, and mentoring clients in job development, job search, interview skills
Proven track record in securing employment for job seekers
Must demonstrate contacts in the business and labour communities
Proven experience working with unemployed, underemployed, vulnerable individuals who face barriers to entering the labour market
Strong interpersonal, employment coaching, mediation, interviewing and presentation skills
Possesses strong verbal and written English language communication skills
