The Job Developer will also connect with employers for placements and focus groups. We also engage in systemic advocacy.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes and facilitates assessment workshops, employment readiness sessions and other workshops as required;
  • Works with participants to determine their individual goals, needs and skills to market to employers, provides personal counselling to the participants and assists them to develop individual action plans;
  • Works closely with the Manager for coordinating, planning and implementing of networking and outreach activities to employers;
  • Conducts direct marketing of participants to employers to promote specific skills;
  • Supports IEHPs who have obtained credential recognition and licensing to find suitable paid or unpaid work placement;
  • Recruits employers and outreaches to local healthcare employers to secure subsidized residencies and mentorship opportunities;
  • Assists participants in accessing labour market information including job openings, skill requirements and other occupational and sector specific information;
  • Provides career exploration opportunities to participants in collaboration with health partners;
  • Provides individual or group-based mentorship;
  • Hosts networking events for employers, mentors and participants;
  • Conducts employer engagement focus groups on program goals and expectations;
  • Maintains records and compiles program statistics; prepares reports and correspondences and conducts follow up calls;
  • Ensures all job placements and marketing materials for the program are kept current;
  • Creates, maintains and updates participant placement related documents and collaborates with the program Manager and Business Administrator on securing all information required for the placement component;
  • Develops and maintains community contacts for referrals, wrap-around supports and outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • In-depth knowledge of an academic discipline normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Adult Education or equivalent. (Cases for Equivalency will be considered);
  • 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in related field;
  • Thorough understanding of issues and barriers faced by women and newcomers to Canada;
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to adapt to program changes when required;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, E-mail, the Internet, Zoom, MS Teams or other videoconferencing applications, database programs; knowledge of a Learning Management System, an asset;
  • Healthcare experience and/or healthcare connections, an asset
  • Access to a motor vehicle, an asset.
