We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Job Cost Analyst/ Project Cost Analyst to join our accounting team on a full-time basis.

You will work closely with the construction team and the purchaser to ensure accurate, timely reporting and to create increasingly efficient processes.
Responsibilities
Analyze cost and schedule data to support accurate project reporting
Review purchase orders and contract requisitions to ensure alignment with project scope and budget
Manage invoice coding, approvals, and perform reconciliations of actuals, property under development, and forecasts
Prepare and maintain cost reports, including budget, commitments, actuals, accruals, forecasts, and variance analysis
Support compliance with the change order process and maintain the change order log
Evaluate key project performance indicators and recommend corrective actions as needed
Develop and manage Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS). Seek out ways to improve reporting to support construction team
Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve invoice, cost, and payment-related issues
Support project budget development, cost transfers, salary recovery, and billing processes
Ensure project financial data complies with ASPE and company reporting standards
Consistently submit timely and accurate cost performance reports
Work on special financial/accounting projects as they arise
Qualifications/Skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Working towards a Canadian CPA designation is preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis, project costing, or accounts receivable
Experience in construction industry is preferred
Experience with Sage SCM, Sage 300 CRE and Sage Intact is an asset
Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Google Sheets and word
Self starter who takes initiative and continually strives to improve processes, embrace change and supports others in doing the same
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional, positive attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Technically strong, with a solution-focused attitude.
Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative team
