THE OPPORTUNITY - JOB COACH, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES (Full-time)



Reporting to the Employment Services Team Leader, the Job Coach assists persons with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment consistent with Vecova's Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Principles. This includes working with an individual to prepare for employment, explore career options, and become as independent as possible at work. As well, this position will build relationships with the employer and assist them in creating an inclusive workplace.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



Assess the client's employment readiness and identify employment skills and supports required to be competitively employed and assist in developing those skills Support the client to explore, obtain and maintain employment Build and maintain professional relationships with employers Support employers by acting as a resource regarding persons with a disability, and assist to customize the supported employee's job Ongoing review of the supported employee's performance and support required to gain the skills needed to do their job Provide advice and support regarding hiring, orientation and training for people with disabilities while maintaining confidentiality for the individual. Perform other job coaching duties and responsibilities as required

WHAT YOU BRING



We are looking to engage team members with diverse skills, experiences, and interests. These are some of the competencies and credentials we are looking for:

Diploma / Degree in Disability Studies, a related social science or Business.

Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, Previous experience providing employment support is an asset Well-developed and effective communication skills (written and oral) A vehicle and a valid Class 5 Drivers License is mandatory Demonstrate a high standard of professionalism aligned with Vecova values Maintain a positive working relationship with all Vecova team members Represent Vecova in a professional manner Demonstrate a high level of initiative and enthusiasm Maintain confidentiality at all times Demonstrate a high level of administrative and IT capacity
