Reporting to the Information Technologies Services (ITS) Coordinator, the ITS Innovation, Implementations and Application Management Manager:
Works closely with both academic and administrative departments within the college in order to evaluate software and hardware needs
Ensures successful planning, design, development, deployment, maintenance, and security architecture of the college's information systems, applications and integrated solutions
Manages the delivery of IT services and customized solution development for specified departments
Oversees the specification, ordering, configuration and delivery of software and platforms to support the college's pedagogical and business requirements
Duties and responsibilities:
Manages a technical team that may consist of support staff and professionals
Management and negotiation of software contracts, licenses and related agreements
Ensure that the IT security policy is adhered to
Supports Facilities Management Services (FMS) and the Project Management Office (PMO) in projects related to ITS
Ensure compliance with internal college bylaws, policies, guidelines, processes and programs as well as all applicable government codes and regulations
Maintains budget controls for assigned areas of responsibility
Provide administrative office management (absences, vacation, etc.) for his/her personnel.
Participate in the interviewing, hiring and supervising of fulltime and part time technicians including stagiaires, as required
Serve on various Information Technology related committees as needed
Liaises with vendors, suppliers, user groups outside of the college, and related organizations
Other duties assigned by the ITS Coordinator or Director of Facilities Management and Information Technology Services.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field. Studies or degree in educational technology would be an asset. Minimum of three (3) years of Information Technology management experience is required.
Other Requirements
Experience in planning and execution of IT innovation and systems projects
Experience in Agile or other spiral development approaches to innovation and projects
Experience in information technology platform configuration and system security planning
Strong organizational skills for the coordinated planning and execution of concurrent projects
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
Proficiency working within Windows, MacOS and Linux platforms
English and French - Intermediate oral, written and comprehension required (testing may be required to demonstrate proficiency and knowledge)
Assets
PMP certification
Knowledge of the public tendering process
Experience in pedagogical development
Experience in application management
