We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various care settings. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will support residents with daily activities, monitor health status, and promote a safe, comfortable environment. Responsibilities
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition
Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition, including dementia or Alzheimer's symptoms
Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury
Follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs, including memory care or hospice support
Engage in patient monitoring during home health visits or in assisted living facilities to ensure safety and well-being
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care
Qualifications
Valid PSW certification or diploma from an accredited program
Experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care environments
Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care practices
Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts
Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs measurement, and care plan implementation
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality
First aid and CPR certification required; additional certifications such as hospice care or autism support are advantageous
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities preferred
Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
