WORK CONDITIONS

Carius Home Care -Companion or PSW

Looking for an Italian -speaking Companion for an Italian senior resident at a local retirement residence in Uxbridge. The role include engaging the client in various activities including conversation in Italian, going for walks, doing art and crafts, etc. Care will be provided at a local retirement residence.

JOB DUTIES

Spend time with resident engaging client through conversation, walks, arts/crafts and other engaging activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Does not need to be a certified PSW Must be engaging! Ability to listen attentively and to take directions from clients to fulfill Carius mission and values Physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, bending, crouching and kneeling Demonstrates teamwork and ability to work well with others in a team (based on client needs) Ability to adapt to stressful situations and unexpected changes to a client while remaining calm and professional Culturally sensitive with ability to work effectively with diverse populations and interact with others in a respectful manner Good verbal and listening communication skills in Italian are required to seek clarification and follow directions from clients ensuring tasks are performed with accuracy High degree of resourcefulness, initiative and problem-solving skills required to anticipate, identify and overcome problems and constraints Ability to plan and organize work effectively to ensure its completion within the allotted booking times Must be comfortable and capable of using technology including email, scheduling systems (clock in/clock-out, online timesheets) and employee self-service platforms Current CPR and First-Aid certification Provide clear Vulnerable Sector Report

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$23.00 per hour
