Overview


We are seeking a skilled IT Technician to join our technology support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support, managing computer systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The IT Technician will work closely with end-users and IT teams to resolve issues efficiently and maintain optimal system performance.

Duties



Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux. Manage computer hardware components, including desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals. Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office applications, operating systems, and specialized enterprise software such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and Jira. Configure and maintain network components such as LANs, VPNs, firewalls, and switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity. Assist users with desktop support tasks including account setup, software installation, and hardware upgrades. Monitor and troubleshoot computer networking issues to ensure minimal downtime. Support the deployment of IT infrastructure upgrades and new hardware/software implementations. Document incidents and resolutions using help desk tools like ServiceNow or Jira for tracking purposes. Collaborate with team members to improve existing processes and implement best practices for IT support. Maintain security protocols by managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect organizational data.

Experience



Proven experience in providing technical support within a help desk or service desk environment. Strong knowledge of computer management including hardware repair and software troubleshooting across multiple operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux). Familiarity with network configurations such as LAN setup, VPNs, firewalls, and basic networking principles. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise tools like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, or Jira. Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including servers, switches, routers, and security devices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users. Experience supporting desktop environments in both corporate and remote settings is preferred. (Wi-Fi, switches, backups, cameras is a plus) Train staff on new tools and workflows in

simple, practical language


Required Skills



Strong understanding of

Windows systems

Experience using

AI tools (ChatGPT or similar)

in a business environment Comfortable creating: Templates Forms Step-by-step guides Good troubleshooting skills and attention to detail Able to work independently and communicate clearly with non-technical staff

Nice to Have (Not Required)



Experience with: Small business IT support Automation tools (Power Automate, scripts, workflows) Network equipment (routers, PoE switches, cameras) Familiarity with shop or industrial environments
