The

IT Technician

is responsible for ensuring smooth daily IT operations across all company locations. This includes maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software, managing the help desk, supporting production equipment connectivity, and coordinating with our external IT partner for escalations or infrastructure-level tasks.

This position requires strong problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused attitude when supporting internal users at all levels.

Key Responsibilities



Serve as the first point of contact for all IT support issues, responding promptly and courteously to requests from staff across multiple locations. Log, prioritize, and resolve tickets within the help-desk system; escalate to our external IT partner when necessary. Maintain and update IT inventory, including hardware, software, and licensing records. Set up and configure new workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for staff. Support manufacturing technology (CNCs, label printers, software systems, etc.) and their network connectivity. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access within Google Workspace and other business systems. Perform regular checks on backups and coordinate data recovery processes as needed. Maintain internal network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, access points) and coordinate changes with the MSP. Travel to satellite showrooms to support hardware and network issues on-site. Document IT processes, solutions, and system configurations.

Technical Knowledge and Experience



Solid understanding of Windows operating systems, basic server administration, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). Familiarity with

Google Workspace

(Docs, Gmail, Calendar, Admin Console). Experience with

Microsoft Office 365

applications. Strong troubleshooting ability for computer hardware, printers, and peripheral devices. Basic knowledge of

PDQ Deploy/Inventory

, remote desktop tools, and backup utilities. Experience supporting

manufacturing or industrial environments

(CNCs, controllers, production workstations) considered a strong asset. Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint protection.

Requirements



Valid Ontario

'G' class driver's license

. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional, patient, and service-oriented demeanor under pressure. Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on open issues. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with off-site technical partners.

Preferred Education and Certifications



Post-secondary education in

Computer Technology

,

Information Systems

, or a related discipline.

CompTIA A+

or

Network+

certification is considered an asset.

Microsoft

or

Google Workspace Administrator

certifications are an advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for learning new technologies.
