Rocket Science is an Emmy nominated boutique visual effects studio collaborating with filmmakers to create stunning visual imagery utilizing artistry, science and technology. Located in Toronto, Canada, notable credits include Eric Kripke\xe2\x80\x99s Emmy nominated superhero series THE BOYS (Amazon),Tim Burton\xe2\x80\x99s streaming hit sensation WEDNESDAY (Netflix), the epic video game adaptation HALO (Paramount +), Steve Blackman\xe2\x80\x99s THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (Netflix) and the recently released POKER FACE (Peacock) from Rian Johnson. The multifaceted VFX studio also boasts features such as David Cronenberg\xe2\x80\x99s CRIMES OF THE FUTURE, Noah Baumbach\xe2\x80\x99s WHITE NOISE (Netflix) and Rachel Morrison\xe2\x80\x99s soon to be released FLINT STRONG (MGM).

RSVFX is currently in production on Mike Flanagan\xe2\x80\x99s Edgar Allan Poe adaptation THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (Netflix), the fourth season of THE BOYS and its upcoming spinoff GEN V for Amazon, Jeremy Garelick\xe2\x80\x99s MURDER MYSTERY 2 (Netflix) and FREAKY TALES (eOne), written and directed by CAPTAIN MARVEL duo, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Please note this job will include some weekend support.

:

• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
• Providing user support, procedural documentation and relevant reports;
• Supporting tickets and helpdesk requests
• Recording documentation and information accurately while producing reports
• Identifying potential issues and participates in problem solving and tool building activities, making required corrections
• Researching, testing and evaluating various software to enhance work productivity
• Render Wrangling is typically required into the evenings and on weekends depending on project demands.
• Ensuring overall render farm performance and efficiency, maximizing render farm\xe2\x80\x99s resources

Qualification Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a IT Technician role
• Minimum 1 year experience in a Render Wrangler role
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Computer animation and/or Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
• Strong knowledge of PC hardware with a focus on visual/media systems
• Experience in relevant software packages including Maya, Houdini, Nuke, VRay, Redshift, Arnold and other industry-specific software is considered an asset
• Experience in Windows, Mac and Linux platforms and production management systems like Shotgun
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take direction, work independently, multi-task and prioritize tasks
• Ability to analyze, problem solve and deliver tasks under tight deadlines
