Consulting Group Ltd. has been serving clients in Western Canada for 24years with various Information Technology Solutions. We are growing and are looking for a team member to augment our Technical Support Team.
From installing new software to monitoring network security, an IT generalist at OPUS, covers various tasks at our clients, without specializing in any one area. Our ideal candidate for this occupation is tech-savvy, loves the challenges of repairing and updating technology systems, and are not afraid to take on many roles on a daily basis. Armed with a knowledge of many areas of technology, OPUS IT generalists often assume leadership positions in solving challenges for our clients. OPUS IT Generalists are involved with solving IT challenges from inception to completion, involving the consultation with the client, defining the solution, and implementing the solution to improve the clients IT Systems.
We have an opportunity for a position at one of our clients, full time supporting their clients end user environment.
Duties
Provide technical support for hardware and software issues, primarily focusing on Windows and Mac operating systems.
Assist users with VPN connectivity and remote access solutions.
Utilize help desk software Jira to track and manage support tickets effectively.
Troubleshoot computer networking issues, including LAN configurations and connectivity problems.
Maintain documentation of IT processes, procedures, and user guides for future reference.
Assist users with connectivity challenges to various applications or services.
Install and configure operating systems and applications on computers.
Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to user inquiries and providing clear solutions.
Experience
Proven experience in an IT support role or similar position is preferred.
Familiarity with help desk tools such as Jira and JAMF is a plus.
Strong understanding of computer networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Experience working in an office environment with a focus on supporting end-users is required.
Job Requirements
Must be located in the Vancouver, British Columbia area.
Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or Information Technology certificate from recognized Technology School.
Able to collaborate with Team members.
Minimum 3 years experience as IT Generalist or similar required.
Broad experience with MS Windows Server technologies.
MS Active Directory and Azure AD experience.
Microsoft M365 office applications and Teams experience.
Microsoft Azure experience.
AWS experience.
Generalized Cloud experience
Virtual Infrastructure experience, VMWare, Hyper-V other virtualized infrastructure technology
Broad Networking skills, understand protocols and networking design and configuration.
Detailed analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Willing to work outside of normal working hours to complete client projects.
Must have strong oral and written skills with the English language.
Organized, detail oriented, organized, accurate and thorough attention to detail.
Strong planning skills.
Excellent client communication and relations skills.
Proactive and able to make decisions.
Able to take ownership of a project from start to finish.
Outgoing, enthusiastic, and persuasive.
Interested and knowledgeable in the latest and "cutting edge" developments regarding information technology.
Passion for learning new Technologies.
Able to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
Clean drivers license

Must be able to be bonded.
