Position Overview
The IT Support Technician provides hands-on technical support across multiple TDCSS locations. This role is responsible for maintaining hardware, troubleshooting end-user issues, managing IT inventory, and ensuring the smooth operation of on-site technology systems. The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver who can work independently while providing excellent customer service to staff with varying levels of technical proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Hardware & Equipment Support
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripherals
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on IT equipment
Manage printer issues including driver installation, network connectivity, and consumables
Set up and configure workstations for new employees via In Tune
Device & Mobile Management
Enroll and manage devices through Microsoft Intune (laptops, tablets, mobile phones)
Deploy software and security policies to managed devices
Troubleshoot device compliance and enrollment issues
Assist with device lifecycle management including provisioning, imaging, and decommissioning
Building Systems & Physical Security
Maintain and assist with troubleshoot surveillance camera systems across multiple properties through third party contacts.
Manage key fob access control systems including user provisioning and hardware maintenance
Coordinate with facilities staff on building technology systems
Ensure physical IT infrastructure is properly maintained
Inventory & Asset Management
Maintain accurate IT asset inventory including hardware, software licenses, and accessories
Ensure proper disposal of decommissioned equipment following data security protocols
End-User Support
Provide first-line technical support to staff across all TDCSS locations
Respond to and resolve IT support tickets in a timely manner
Deliver patient, clear assistance to users with varying technical skill levels
Document solutions and maintain knowledge base articles for common issues
Escalate complex issues to Associate Director of IT as appropriate
Required Qualifications
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 2 years of hands-on IT support experience
Experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 cloud applications
Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, preferably Microsoft Intune
Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between TDCSS locations when needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IT asset management tools and processes
Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
Experience in a multi-site environment
Previous work in non-profit or community services sector
Working Conditions
Regular travel between multiple TDCSS locations in Terrace, BC
Combination of office-based and on-site work at various program locations
Physical requirements include lifting equipment, crawling under desks, and working in server rooms
Criminal record check required (working with vulnerable populations)
