About the Role:



The IT Specialist's role is to facilitate a stable operation of warehouse and studio networks, serving as the single point of contact for staff and studio clients needing IT support within the desktop computing environment. This individual will troubleshoot issues (in person, by telephone, or via email) promptly and accurately, providing end-user assistance as needed. Additionally, the IT Specialist will support and maintain daily operations for warehouse and studio facilities from a helpdesk/service desk perspective, collaborating with the IT team across the company. The role also requires the ability to travel to local studio and warehouse locations when necessary.

Regular business hours, weekdays 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.



Responsibilities:



Operational Management

Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, VoIP, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products. Maintain security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. Maintain all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports. Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding network connectivity and VoIP problems. Ensure that physical desktop and VoIP connections (i.e. RJ-45 Ethernet jacks) are in proper working order. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair. Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.

Strategy & Planning

Work with end users and department heads to identify and document required network service levels, working to meet service level agreements with end users. Respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for network installations, including data, voice, and video systems.

Acquisition & Development

Support development and implementation of networking projects and new technology installations. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend for purchase networking hardware and software products. Prepare, maintain, and enforce procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring network data. Liaise with, and provide training and support to, help desk support staff on network issues. Perform security audits.

Qualifications:



College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience. Working technical knowledge of PC operating systems, including MS Windows and Apple MacOS Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards for switches, LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi Working knowledge on Vsphere and Virtual Machine deployment, configuration and troubleshooting Working knowledge of ServiceDesk, ADManager, Meraki, Ruckus and Kentech tools are an asset. Working technical knowledge with PBX phone systems, Panasonic an asset Experience with a VoIP system is considered an asset Experience with facility security systems (cameras, door strikes, FOBs) considered an asset Ability to operate network component analyzers, scanners, and testers. Ability to gather relevant information and document steps to replicate task for training purposes. Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Knowledge of relatable electrical requirements Knowledge of tv/film set protocol

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:



Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components. Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment and in studio facilities Work may require weekend and evening work
