ZACS is looking for an IT Specialist. This position provides a wide array of challenges with the ability to take projects from development to completion. We want an energetic, positive person that loves to be a member of a team that supports others. You will provide technical support to our client community where you will be responsible for planning, procuring and executing technical support of all client infrastructure. The successful candidate will have experience or technical training in server support (physical, virtual and cloud), desktop support and be able to collaborate with our client leadership for their technology budgeting and planning. Besides your technical skills, a valid driver's license, the ability to work immediately in Canada and your own vehicle is a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES

User Support:

Set up and maintain PC hardware and software for client users Communicate with users via phone, chat, email, and/or a support ticketing system Provide onsite and remote support as needed Educate and inform client leadership and client staff with technology and cybersecurity trends as well as advising clients with their technology planning, management and evergreening.
Technical Support:

Manage and administer IT infrastructure including networks and servers Manage server software and hardware Create and maintain Active Directory user accounts and permissions to ensure effective security measures Administer and provide technical support for enterprise software and hardware solutions including on-site and hosted/cloud-based applications including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 Manage network infrastructure including network, printers, copiers, internet services, telecommunications solutions, etc. Maintain network-wide security measures including group policy, antivirus, antispam, firewall, patch management, backup solutions and disaster recovery
Hardware/Software Analysis & Procurement:

Undertake comprehensive needs assessments for business purposes, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Assess and recommend industry standard software/hardware functionality and options Support and assist clients in preparation of annual IT budget
General

Collaborate and communicate effectively with all ZACS staff, vendors and clients Perform testing for new features or additions to client technical infrastructure Run various reports from ticketing system to track client hours Contribute to a collaborative and innovative corporate culture Maintain inventory of client systems, equipment, and licenses Other projects and duties as required
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

This position will appeal to a passionate individual with the following skills and a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in Technical Support or other direct facing customer support role in IT. Alternatively we would entertain an energetic and positive new graduate from a recognized IT program with training in server and cloud based services an asset:

Degree in Computer Science or equivalent would be an asset Strong interpersonal and proven communication skills Strong analytical skills Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities while performing quality work in an efficient manner with minimal supervision Strong technical skills in Windows , Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace Strong level of understanding of Microsoft Active Directory including GPO, DNS, DHCP, SSL Strong level of understanding of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting including VPN Good level of understanding of Virtual Meeting/Boardroom technology like Zoom and Teams Understanding of backup best practices and cloud backup solutions like Datto Excellent time management and problem management skills Capable of moving desktop computer equipment in an office environment (up to 30 lbs) Networking and security certifications are an asset Personal vehicle and valid driver's license required.
