Job Description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a IT Security Analyst - Threat & Vulnerability Management to join our Client's team on a 12-month contract basis. This role is Hybrid and the Client is based in Vancouver, BC.
Summary of the Role
The IT Security Analyst (Threat & Vulnerability Management) is responsible for protecting enterprise IT assets within a large, complex technology environment. The role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities across IT and operational technology environments. Working closely with security operations and risk stakeholders, the analyst supports threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of security processes to strengthen organizational security posture.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct risk analysis to assess likelihood, impact, and severity of threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and communicate remediation and mitigation advisories to technical and business stakeholders.
• Analyze threat intelligence and security advisories, including zero-day vulnerabilities and vendor alerts.
• Support investigations into exposure and risk across IT and OT environments.
• Collaborate with Security Operations teams to enhance threat hunting and incident management practices.
• Generate reports on endpoint security posture, vulnerabilities, and compliance metrics.
• Track and report vulnerability metrics to support risk awareness and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, policies, playbooks, and use cases for threat and vulnerability management.
• Design and implement workflows for vulnerability response, remediation, and mitigation.
• Analyze threat trends, summarize threat actor tactics and techniques, and recommend process improvements to enhance security effectiveness.

Core Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on threat and vulnerability analysis
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment, scanning, and management tools
• Experience using threat intelligence platforms to manage and operationalize threat data
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, and ISO/IEC 27001
• Technical experience with network security, log analysis, configuration management, and security auditing

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with Tenable platforms and Microsoft security tooling
• Familiarity with ServiceNow Security Incident Response and Vulnerability Response
• Knowledge of penetration testing fundamentals
• Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments
• Exposure to critical infrastructure or regulated environments

Terms
This is a 12-month contract role based in Vancouver with a hybrid work arrangement; specific onsite requirements are to be determined. The successful candidate will be required to complete reference checks and a background check as part of the hiring process.
