, you will coordinate the work of the technical team responsible for the efficient operation of the company's virtual and physical servers, databases, and services, both on premises, and in the cloud. You will collaborate with internal and external partners for the delivery of cloud-based IT projects using Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies, in a cloud-first environment. You will work closely with the IT leadership and decision makers from other departments in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Your Responsibilities:
Lead an IT team responsible for the development and maintenance of Irving Oil's computing infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud (Azure)
Manage department operational planning and initiatives, organize and negotiate the allocation of IT resources
Accountable for business continuity processes such as disaster recovery planning, backups and replication and the implementation of high availability systems
Oversee all reports and documentation related to on-premises and cloud operations
Develop maintenance schedules for operating systems, applications and cloud-native services
Enforce usage of policies, procedures and change management
Participate in Architecture & Risk Review Board meetings
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including, data centers, servers, operating systems, and associated hardware
Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the network infrastructure and IT systems
Monitor attendance and ensure employee performance
Your Skills:
Proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
Strong understanding of IT Operations Practices (ITIL, Change Management, etc.) in a 24/7 support environment
Strong leadership skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional customer service
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed
Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities

Your Experience:
University degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or equivalent
Minimum of 10 years related work experience
Minimum 3 years of management experience
Strong technical knowledge of Network and Server operating systems
Must have good familiarity with broad IT infrastructure technologies such as virtualization, cloud computing, storage and backup solution, Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN ), databases, and security
