Location of work Although primarily remote, the employee must be physically located close enough to our onsite lab located in Toronto (College and University), and be able to reach the lab within an hour. The role will require the employee to travel and work from the lab at least once per month to perform recurring maintenance tasks.
Overview Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the IT Helpdesk Technician is the first contact of end-user support, and responsible for resolving user issues in accordance with Point SLAs. In addition, this role is responsible for the execution of recurring IT tasks such as backups and active monitoring of critical systems. Objectives
Responding to user issues via phone, email, and helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.
Escalate issues appropriately to sustain quick issue resolution.
Install, make changes, and repair computer hardware when possible.
Install and maintain OS and software updates and patches.
Create and maintain required documentation.
Maintain service level agreements for the organization.
Receive and respond to system notifications such as Security, Compliance, or Performance notices, and take appropriate actions to remediate any problems that may occur.
Perform recurring activities such as backups and integrity testing
Support the Manager of IT in his role.

Requirements
Minimum 3 years working in an IT support role
Strong customer service capabilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
