Job Description

Role Overview
The IT Support Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for all IT-related needs at the local plant, while also providing support to remote users and users at other sites as required. This role is responsible for delivering reliable IT services, maintaining local IT infrastructure and assets, and ensuring adherence to company IT policies and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
IT User Support & Services

  • Act as the first point of contact for all IT users at the local plant.
  • Provide remote support to users at other locations as needed.
  • Deliver IT services including email support, network availability, information security.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups within a Hybrid Active Directory environment.
  • Provide technical support for SAP systems at the local level.
  • Manage and maintain all IT assets within the local plant.
IT Policy Implementation
  • Roll out and enforce end-user IT policies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies governing company-owned IT assets and personal device usage on company premises.
Vendor & Partner Management
  • Coordinate with IT service partners including ISPs, hardware and software vendors, and external contractors.
  • Support service delivery and issue resolution through third-party providers.
Systems & Infrastructure Support
  • Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN environments.
  • Ensure data backup, archiving, and recovery processes are followed.
  • Support ongoing IT initiatives and projects, including SharePoint migrations.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience providing independent IT support.
  • Strong experience with networking technologies, including:
  • FortiGate Firewalls and VeloCloud SDWAN.
  • Cisco and/or Netgear switches
  • LAN/WAN setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Desktop support experience for Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10/11.
  • Server administration and support experience with Windows Server 2012 and newer.
  • Experience with data backup and archiving solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, Intune, Office Suite).
  • Experience managing Avaya PBX systems, mobile device management (iOS/Samsung), and Honeywell/Intermec barcode scanners.
  • Familiarity with SAP administration will be considered an asset.
