Career Opportunity IT Applications Supervisor
FULL-TIME PERMANENT (EXCLUDED) POSITION The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) helps to build safe and healthy workplaces in PEI and provides benefits and services to reduce the impact of work-related injuries. The IT Applications Supervisor is responsible for all mission critical corporate applications including claims adjudication and management, employer assessment and classification services, financials, occupational health and safety enforcement and prevention, Website and Online Services. The IT Applications Supervisor reports to the Manager, Innovation and Technology. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervises a team responsible for application software development, maintenance and support.
  • Maintains a functional, supportable environment for corporate applications ensuring maximum uptime.
  • Manages all aspects of the end to end software release process.
  • Develop, implement and monitor procedures to support application software development and maintenance.
  • Ensures proper design and application development standards are established and adhered to.
  • Manages, directs and monitors work provided by vendors.
  • Provides guidance in the trouble shooting of production system issues where required.
  • Develop detailed IT project plans and manages IT projects utilizing change management processes.
  • Keeps up to date on new technology and identifies areas which may be improved by the implementation of technology.
  • Assists the Manager in the preparation and evaluation of public procurement processes.
  • Works responsibly to follow safe work practices as defined by the organization.
The IT Applications Supervisor is the senior resource to the Manager and participates in the development of information technology strategic plans. Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Post-Secondary Degree or College Diploma in computer information systems or technology. Must have extensive experience (5 plus years) in planning, development, implementation and maintenance of business information technology solutions. Leadership experience combined with proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff to establish priorities and manage competing deadlines is required. Knowledge of principles, techniques and methodologies involved in the development, maintenance, and implementation of business information systems. Experience using established project management methodologies, as well as experience monitoring, managing and evaluating external vendor service level agreements is required. Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered and must be articulated in the application process. Bilingual in both French and English would be considered an asset. A satisfactory criminal records check is required for this position. Position Available: Permanent Full-time position

Salary Range: Excluded Level 20: $39.67 - $49.59 per hour
