As we continue our digital transformation journey, we are seeking a dynamic and driven Manager, IT Applications to lead our enterprise application portfolio.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of IT, the Manager, IT Applications leads a growing team of 11 professionals, including a tech lead, business analysts, system analysts/programmers, and support analysts. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery, support, and evolution of mission-critical applications including ERP (Paradigm CenterPoint/MasterPoint), Salesforce, custom in-house systems, and manufacturing execution solutions. The role provides a blend of strategic ownership and technical oversight in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor a team of 11 IT professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation
Define and execute the enterprise applications roadmap aligned with company strategy
Establish KPIs and implement best-in-class processes for development, support, and delivery
Application Management
Oversee support, development, and integration of key enterprise systems: ERP, Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Communities), HRIS, MES, and custom applications
Ensure adherence to SLAs for incident response and resolution across varying priority levels
Conduct design and code reviews when needed to maintain technical integrity
Process Optimization & Tools
Assess and improve toolsets used for backlog management, release planning, and support (e.g., evaluating Jira or alternatives)
Drive standardization of SDLC, release management, and support workflows
Innovation & AI Enablement
Champion AI adoption across the enterprise through pilots and use cases (e.g., HR and Maintenance bots)
Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and user experience
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with business leads across departments to understand evolving needs
Facilitate change management efforts and ensure smooth adoption of new solutions
Serve as a trusted advisor and communication bridge between IT and business
Vendor & Project Management
Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiation, and third-party integrations
Lead key projects and ensure delivery on time, scope, and budget
Play a key role in the upcoming selection and implementation of a new HRIS and payroll system
Support planning and preparation for a potential ERP selection and implementation project targeted for next year
Technical Environment
ERP:
Lesser known ERP system - window/door industry-specific
CRM:
Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Communities, custom apps)
Languages:
.NET (primary development platform); open to modern development stacks for new projects
Databases:
Microsoft SQL Server (primary); PostgreSQL (legacy)
ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, custom bots under development
Upcoming Projects:
Data warehousing and business intelligence are expected to be future strategic initiatives. Familiarity with data architecture, data warehousing concepts, and BI tools will be considered a strong asset.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in IT application delivery, including 3+ years in a leadership role
Demonstrated success managing cross-functional technical teams and enterprise applications
Strong project management experience and ability to juggle competing priorities
Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), system integration, and stakeholder engagement
Hands-on experience with application support models and setting up performance metrics
Exposure to data warehousing and business intelligence tools is a plus
3-4 years of hands-on programming experience in any modern development stack; ability to contribute to design/code reviews and support architectural decisions

Working Conditions
Full-time, onsite role at our Edmonton Head Office
Occasional travel may be required to support the IT department, attend meetings and training sessions
