About Us:

Pleasant Heights After School (PHAS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe and enriching before and after school care for children aged 5 to 12. We are committed to creating a nurturing environment where children thrive. To enhance our digital presence and strengthen internal IT security, we are seeking a Part-Time IT & Marketing Specialist to join our team.

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for IT security, cloud backup management, and website maintenance while also handling minor social media management (posting 2-3 times on Instagram monthly). The position is part-time (0.2 FTE, 8 hours per week) and is ideal for someone who is tech-savvy, creative, and experienced in both IT infrastructure and basic level social media.

This role is remote with structured availability hours to provide IT support and manage marketing initiatives effectively. The IT & Marketing Specialist will be expected to be responsive to emails, available for scheduled check-ins, and collaborate on digital projects during designated hours to ensure smooth operations. While creative and technical work can be completed flexibly, maintaining a consistent schedule for availability will help ensure staff have the support they need. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy marketing professional looking for a stable, part-time position

Key Responsibilities:

IT & Security (80%)

Manage cloud backups and ensure data security compliance (Office 365 SharePoint specifically). Maintain website plugins, security tools, and general website health. Provide basic tech support for staff, troubleshooting general minor IT issues. Oversee email security measures and implement best practices for cybersecurity.
Marketing & Digital Media (20%)

Manage PHAS social media accounts (content creation, scheduling, engagement). Develop digital promotional materials (graphics, flyers, email campaigns). Track and analyze social media engagement and website traffic for insights. Assist in branding and outreach efforts to improve community engagement along with the CEO.
Qualifications:

Education: Diploma or degree in IT, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 2 years in IT support. Experience in non-profit or childcare settings is an asset. Skills: Familiarity with website management tools (WordPress). Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, MailChimp). Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent). Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and cloud storage systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:

Flexible schedule (90% remote work possible - rare in person support for computer or phone issues requires someone living locally). Approx. 8 hours per week, scheduled in collaboration with the CEO.
Compensation:

$33 per hour
