The IT and School Operation Support staff plays a dual role in ensuring smooth school operations and maintaining the school's IT infrastructure. This position supports daily school office functions, extracurricular activities, and student needs, while also managing computing systems, audio/video, network, database performance, and the school website.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
School Operation Support
Assist the Principal and school office in daily school operations and administrative tasks.
Support the planning, coordination, and operation of extracurricular activities.
Monitor and check student attendance and follow up on student needs in coordination with student services.
Provide operational support for school events and activities.
Provide support for teachers and staff to ensure a smooth and organized school environment.
IT Support
Establish system specifications by working with users, analyzing workflows, and assessing access, information, and security requirements.
Plan, install, configure, and test computer hardware, printers, software, networks, and operating systems.
Maintain and manage the school's database system, ensuring accuracy, security, and accessibility.
Develop and enforce system access controls, backups, and recovery policies.
Provide user support, training, and reference resources for staff.
Maintain the company website, ensuring content is up to date, accurate, and aligned with school communications.
Secure website and email systems by managing user access and controls.
Maintain audio/video systems, IT equipment inventory, and warranty database.
Submit budget information, monitor IT and operational expenses, and track inventory.
Maintain contractor and service provider contact lists and coordinate repair services as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field.
Equivalent education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a similar role.
Experience working in an educational institution or school environment is an asset.
Hands-on experience with hardware/software installation, troubleshooting, LAN/WAN networks, and database management.
Familiarity with audio/video systems, website maintenance (WordPress or similar CMS), and user training/support.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, Office 365, and Google Workspace.
Knowledge of network configuration, data security, backups, and user access control.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or web content management preferred.
Experience managing school database systems (e.g., Edsembli or similar) is an advantage.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support staff and students effectively.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and initiative.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,200.00-$48,000.00 per year
