Job Summary
The Advisor, IT serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by maintaining IT infrastructure across the Association. The main goals of this position are:
1. Serve as the Association's subject matter expert on Microsoft solutions while ensuring the efficient and secure deployment of Microsoft technologies.
2. Configure and manage the maintenance of networks, hardware and software for the Association, overseeing IT infrastructure, network security and system reliability.
3. Troubleshoot problems and assist stakeholders in technology solutions.
4. Implement back up processes and assessing systems for upgrades and replacement.

Nature & Scope
The Advisor, IT will be responsible for supporting the Association through IT systems' security, efficiency, and reliability.. The major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Exemplify the YMCA of Lethbridge's Core Values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of goals and objectives across the Association.
- Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, responding to general inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner and in accordance with Association policies and guidelines.
- Be a YMCA ambassador by engaging in and promoting practices and frameworks which centre diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Demonstrate a commitment to health and safety, incident management and emergency response.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs or requests and provide detailed, specialized information, explanations and interpretations requiring significant judgement and tact, including JCI, Inland, Rogers, and XBase.
Organizational and Department Management
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of Association policies and guidelines within your scope of responsibility.
- Develop and implement hardware and software security policies and procedures.
- Facilitate network management of Cisco Meraki Networks including updates and patches to network devices, monitoring network traffic, and updating mobile devices.
- Provide guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment, providing technical support to users on an ongoing basis including software installations, asset management, computer replacement, and issue resolution.
- Conduct maintenance on Association servers including user accounts and network drives.
- Configure and maintain a file server in Windows Server, ensuring appropriate access levels and implementing backups.
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts in Active Directory, ensuring group policies and organizational units are implemented.
- Manage of Microsoft Suite (Teams, Outlook, Office 365, SharePoint) including managing Association licenses, administration of employee emails and distribution lists, reassignment of users, and creation and maintenance of SharePoint sites and associated groups.
- Mentor and model best practices, setting high standards for excellence in execution.
- Provide tenant support to Lime Health and Wellness, IRIS, and JugoJuice, including monitoring the data network and VoIP Phone where applicable.
- Lead network administration through the set-up of local area networks and connections, problem-solve services to network users, implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and engage in regular maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and support standard desktop operating systems, and standard desktop applications.
- Manage print server configuration and maintenance of these.
- Administer VoIP telephone setup with Microsoft Teams, configuring call waiting services, phone menus, and call routing.
- Oversee software's and licenses including Adobe Pro, Cloud Creative, Constant Contact, Halo Fitness, Simple Texting and Spotify.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments from the Domain and the Web, including defining parameters and plan assessment, analyzing results, prioritizing vulnerabilities, and using results to provide recommendations on remediation and mitigation.
- Manage Avigilion, SecurCom CCTV, and Kantech systems.
- Collaborate with external hardware and software suppliers to troubleshoot issues and programs, coordinate preventative maintenance of software and systems, identify computer or network equipment needs.
- Complete ticketed requests for upgrades and repairs across the YMCA of Lethbridge's facilities related to AV equipment, computer and other office equipment hardware and software, access control systems (ID Badges, doors, etc.), surveillance system and resetting and redeployment of employee technology and equipment.
- Conduct all system administration of Cloud Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Coordinate membership CRM changes with the finance department.
- Create and maintain documentation of upgrades and repairs as well as maintenance schedules in the asset management program.
- Attend all required YMCA trainings and recertifications.
Financial Management and Philanthropic Involvement
- Model the Association's dedication to philanthropy.
- Participate in Fund Development Initiatives to further the impact of team efforts.
- Adhere to the team's annual budget, managing expenses within your area and ensuring proper coding and documentation is provided.
External Relations and Advocacy
- Be a YMCA ambassador and strategic leader in the community by developing partnerships and relationships through community groups, committee work, and outreach opportunities.
- Educate others on IT initiatives and projects.
- Follow policies regarding confidentiality to safeguard data and information and handle sensitive information with a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality, in addition to all Association policies and guidelines.
- Identify recommendations for growth opportunities in alignment with the Association's strategic plan.

Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent
- Minimum of 3+ years of practical or lived experience is required
- Intermediate to expert knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite programs is required
- Previous non-profit experience is considered an asset
- Evidence of an acceptable Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check
- Three professional references are required
