IT Administrator
We are currently seeking a skilled IT Administrator at our facility located in Brooklyn, Queens County, NS to perform both technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of our computer and telecommunications systems.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, Wi-Fi, endpoints, and cloud services (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams).
Administer user accounts, security groups, and devices using Active Directory, Azure AD, and Intune.
Manage and support NetSuite ERP and Ample Organics, including user roles, dashboards, workflows, and compliance data.
Collaborate with third-party ERP and IT providers; work toward in-house capability development and reduced outsourcing.
Implement cybersecurity measures (firewalls, endpoint protection, access controls) and conduct regular vulnerability assessments.
Ensure compliance with Health Canada, Cannabis Act, and PIPEDA through secure data storage, audit readiness, and traceability.
Lead or support IT projects including infrastructure upgrades, software deployments, and cross-functional initiatives.
Define and implement KPIs and business intelligence dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, NetSuite) to support data-driven decision-making.
Provide Level 1 and 2 end-user support for hardware, software, connectivity, printers, AV, VoIP, and related systems.
Coordinate employee onboarding/offboarding and provisioning of IT assets.
Maintain IT documentation, network diagrams, SOPs, and an up-to-date asset inventory.
Monitor and manage the lifecycle of hardware/software, ensuring consistent device deployments and timely upgrades.
Deliver IT training and maintain internal knowledge base resources.
Identify opportunities for system automation, optimization, and technology improvements.
Stay informed on IT best practices, cannabis industry regulations, and evolving security standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
Minimum 3 years' experience as an IT Administrator or similar technical role.
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, medical cannabis, food, beverage, federally inspected industries) is a strong asset.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Windows Server, database management, Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and Office 365.
Skilled in network configuration and troubleshooting (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs).
Experience with cloud platforms and identity management (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune, Azure AD).
Knowledge of internet-based communication systems including VoIP and online fax.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and seed-to-sale platforms (e.g., Ample Organics).
Familiar with endpoint protection, backup solutions, and IT asset lifecycle management.
Soft Skills & Abilities:

Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization capabilities in a fast-paced, multi-location setting.
