We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Isolation Approving Authority. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out operation and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will candidates to work a Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday, 8-hour day schedule.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop an approval process for creating and/ or modifying isolation sheets.
  • Create and Modify isolation check lists as per the isolation standard.
  • Maintain an up-to-date isolation database to ensure created or modified isolation check lists are up to date and they are readily available to ensure timely execution of work.
  • Review all returned isolation check lists to ensure isolation and de-isolations are as per the isolation standard.
  • Maintain a database to store returned isolation check lists as per the isolation standards.
  • Develop and install equipment tags as per the standard.
  • Actively participate in lineup meetings, safety meetings and the Isolation Standards team meeting
  • Works closely with the planning team to develop isolation check lists for shutdowns.
  • Provides input/suggestions to procedures, policies, work instructions, and tasks relating to isolations.
  • Participates in analysis of safety incidents involving isolations.
  • Communicates regularly with Supervisors, Planning, Maintenance (ALL Trades) and Operations regarding the status of isolation checklist development and deployment.
  • Audit, Inspect and maintain isolation stations, order replacement locks and devices as per the isolation standard.
  • Present isolation theory training
  • Schedule isolation practical
  • Communicate problems/concerns to their direct report.
  • Additional tasks/duties assigned by Electrical Superintendent or designate as required

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable of the isolation standard and procedures.
  • Certification in one of the core trades.
  • Previous mining experience or work experience in an Industrial setting.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Organized and able to meet timelines
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

Education:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Interprovincial Trade Designation
  • Minimum 3 years relevant field experience maintaining systems in a live operating industrial plant (i.e. mining, pulp and paper, oil and gas.

License:
  • Driver\'s License (Required)
