We invite you to be part of our evolution.Our Team:As part of the All Mines Services Team, the iROC (Integrated Remote Operations Centre) is a critical multi-year cross functional deployment of process and business system improvements integrated with technological implementation identified within the IT roadmap. The iROC Project brings forward both productivity and production improvements at our deployment sites.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an iROC Supervisor, Production to join our iROC \xe2\x80\x93 All Services Mine Team in Thompson, MB. This is a permanent position.The Supervisor, Producton iROC Project is responsible for site implementation and adoption of the new Integrated Remote Operations Centre (iROC) in Thompson. As iROC becomes operational, the supervisor will be accountable to manage and coach the iROC data analyst and the iROC Operational Leads; lead the iROC daily routines, coaching on shift-planning, assisting operational leads and supervisors on problem solving, and validating end-of-shift data and reports. The Supervisor will also be required to report out on data trends to help in data-based decision making for the business.The position is accountable for:

  • Following Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards
  • Ensure site(s) are adhering to Vale\xe2\x80\x99s VPS business process standards, procedures and using system applications and tools in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Understands the goals, objectives, and changes resulting from the iROC project deployment, acts as the subject matter expert on-site and a conduit between the central team and local site implementation identifying required support for the site.
  • Facilitates change management by providing iROC training, coaching and issue resolution support to site personnel with support from central project team. Assist and bring seniority in key moments (FMDS, crew meetings) as required.
  • Understands the key stakeholders at the site and engages them as needed on an appropriate cadence to keep them updated on all project developments and secure their buy-in. Report progress to mine leadership.
  • Sets expectations, with the support of the Mine Manager, for visible use of new routines and / or technologies in accordance with the project roadmap.
  • Manage and coach the in-field support resources during the deployment phase (pilot to go live)
  • Encourages the tracking and communication of any wins / value generated for broader organization awareness and liaises with the central team to update site progress, provide feedback, be the \xe2\x80\x9cvoice of the customer\xe2\x80\x9d, and escalate blockers.
  • Ensure planning, scheduling and execution processes are sustainably integrated with iROC resulting in safe mine productivity increases for our Vale\xe2\x80\x99s North Atlantic Operations.
  • Provides guidance and assist area site leadership in the development, implementation, and optimization of integrated planning and routine management business processes, tools, and systems.
  • Review and coach site leadership on reported iROC data analytics for site decision making, scheduling and improvement activities e.g. demand planning and scheduling, performance measurement, KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, etc.
About YouEducation
  • Undergraduate degree/Community College in Computer Technology or Engineering (Mining) with extensive understanding of process flow mapping, mine planning and execution.
Experience:
  • 8 \xe2\x80\x93 10 years of underground mining, planning and scheduling, project management or maintenance experience.
Skills:
  • Ability to influence without authority.
  • Change Management knowledge and/or training
  • Critical thinking skills, taking ownership for the whole.
  • Ability to assess and communicate safety, risk, productivity and cost impacts.

  • Knowledge of integrated operations planning and scheduling best practices and systems. Underground mining, scheduling, underground mine design, mining engineering, mine geology, maintenance knowledge is considered an asset.
