Duration: 4 Months (May extend to 8 Months)

Network Infrastructure
The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia\xe2\x80\x99s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
The IP Networks Business Division provides a co-op/intern student with the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience on the most advanced technologies that build the world\'s most critical networks. The SR TEC team (Technical Expertise Centre) is a highly specialized group, providing worldwide support to customers and internal Nokia teams

Education Recommendations
Currently a candidate for bachelor\'s degree or diploma in Computer/Software/Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with an accredited school in Canada.

What you will learn and contribute to
As part of our team, you will:

• Acquire a deep understanding of how IP/MPLS networks are built, from small enterprises to the largest Service Providers and the Internet
• Obtain hands-on experience on the industry-leading 7x50 Service Routers - The #1 in Global Edge Routing and the #2 in Global Total Routing
• Have availability of the Nokia Service Routing Certification (SRC) Program
• Develop enhanced techniques in the troubleshooting and reproduction of real-world issues
• Experience teamwork in a fast-paced environment and get exposure to Customer Issue Management

A co-op/intern student will have plenty of opportunities to gain hands-on practice on the acquired knowledge, by helping us maintain our internal network lab while getting involved with the TEC activities below. We are looking for co-op/intern students with an interest in designing their solutions and thinking creatively!

What is Nokia looking for from me
You have:

• An interest in working with the industry-leading 7x50 series of carrier-grade service routers, in learning how IP/MPLS networks are built, and in how the Internet works
• Critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Attention to details and excellent communication skills to provide written and verbal explanations to customers and internal Nokia teams
• Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize between tasks

It would be nice if you also had:

• Experience in IP network troubleshooting techniques
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment, including automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
• Knowledge of IP/MPLS and routing protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP is an asset
