Candidate Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited legal assistant and or law clerk program is required

Minimum 1+ years'

experience in handling Tort matters. Experience in providing administrative support in an environment with a broad variety of administrative and clerical functions Familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule*
Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Draft pleadings, prepare Affidavit of Documents, produce settlement proposals, motion records, and discovery briefs Drafting of correspondence, legal documents such as pre-trial/mediation memos, motion records, statement of claims, pleadings for filing and service Manage the scheduling, discoveries and mediations with defence counsel, mediators and the court staff. Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Professionally maintaining daily contact with clients. Other office duties as required.
