The Opportunity:




We're looking for an Investment Analyst to join our Asset Management Investment team.


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Research the Investment Analyst will be responsible for the external manager research and oversight function for all NEI Funds and Aviso's Managed Asset Program (MAP). You will use both your qualitative and quantitative researching skills to enable insights that will help investments by adding value to performance and broadening capabilities of the investment function.

What your day looks like:



Contribute to external sub-advisor research and oversight processes. Ensure all 3rd party strategies deliver consistent alpha generation potential while taking appropriate risks. The oversight process includes, monthly monitoring, quarterly performance attribution review and annual on-site due diligence meetings Assist and automate the production of marketing/sales materials and in the development of marketing/sales campaigns related to NEI's internally managed strategies Add value to manager research process with timely insights and through increased depth of research on both existing and prospective managers Utilize research to drive investment performance and results across the entire NEI lineup of funds and Aviso's MAP program Work with large amounts of data to implement new quantitative investment strategies or assess external investment managers Utilize eVestment, Bloomberg, Morningstar and Factset to be the primary driver for research on manager research from those platforms Support sales & client service with regular institutional client reporting as well as ad-hoc investment pieces Assist in the production of monthly/quarterly reports for all strategies Contribute to the management of NEI's multi-asset solutions and help determine asset allocation decisions

Requirements



Your experience and skills:



University Degree in Business, science, math or any quantitative fields Master's degree in business, finance or one that utilizes statistical models (Economics, Math, etc.) is an asset CFA charter holder or passed some CFA exams Any finance related professional designations such as CAIA, CPA 2-7 years' overall work experience in external investment research or quantitative research Experience and knowledge of global institutional portfolio management processes in equity or fixed income Advance skills in Excel and with data Advanced skills or has the ability to very quickly learn analytical tools such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, Factset and Bloomberg Strong written and oral communication skills Experience using statistical models through education or work an asset Knowledge of Python or other programming languages an asset Ability to work independently but also interactively within a team-oriented environment Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary




This position is posted with an expected salary range of $93,000 - $113,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
