We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Inventory Specialist
to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the smooth operation of our grain inventory management system across our plants in Saskatchewan. You will be responsible for monitoring, reconciling, and reporting on inventory levels, as well as working closely with multiple departments to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Control & Monitoring
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of grain inventory across 6 plant locations.
Monitor daily grain receipts, shipments, transfers, and weigh-over adjustments.
Track inventory levels to ensure stock availability for trading, processing, and customer orders.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with plant operations and head office.
2. System Management & Reconciliation
Perform daily and monthly reconciliations between physical stock, scale tickets, and ERP/warehouse management systems.
Ensure timely and accurate data entry of inventory movements in company systems (Prosoft or equivalent).
Generate inventory reports and highlight variances for management review.
3. Inventory Movements & Documentation
Oversee and verify inter-plant transfers, blending, drying, and other grain handling activities.
Review and validate scale tickets, bin movements, and adjustments to reflect actual stock positions.
Prepare documentation for inbound/outbound shipments and coordinate with logistics teams
4. Compliance & Audit Support
Ensure inventory procedures comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits by providing accurate inventory data, reports, and justifications.
Maintain organized records for traceability of grain lots and quality grades.
5. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management and trading teams.
Analyze trends in shrink, handling losses, and storage capacity utilization.
Provide recommendations to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with plant managers, operations staff, trading desk, and finance teams.
Communicate regularly with the head office to align on inventory adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines.
Support operational teams in planning for storage, handling, and movements based on trading requirements.
7. Continuous Improvement
Identify gaps in inventory processes and recommend improvements for system accuracy and efficiency.
Assist in the implementation of inventory control policies, procedures, and system enhancements.
Train plant staff on best practices for inventory reporting and documentation.
Minimum five (5) years working experience in similar role.
Expert level proficiency in MS Office Excel.
Experience working with Accounting ERP system.

Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Experience with Power BI and Power Query is considered as an asset.
Previous experience in an agriculture company is highly valued.
Experience in Microsoft Dynamics is a strong asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
