CanAmerican is experiencing exponential growth and is currently looking for an

Inventory Manager

to join the team to play an active role in the exciting transformation the company is undergoing.

The leadership team have determined an Inventory Manager role is needed to manage the large quantities of product stocked (>4000 items) and to assist with extending the current manufacturing control system helping to automate much of the heavy lifting around the key functions of inventory control, purchasing and receiving, works order planning and control, materials storage and issuing, and ultimate shipping. We have set up a Central Store to bring the inventory under one roof and the Inventory Manager will play an active role in the design, set up and operation of this facility.

Inventory Manager:

Primary Responsibilities:

Procurement, Receiving and Workshop Provisioning



? Ensure stock is adequately provisioned for all distribution channels (workshop, parts sales, repairs, warranty claims and supporting partners).

? Maintain effective routines, coordinating with production managers to flag risks of potential shipping delays which could impact the production plan.

? Place orders to replenish stock avoiding stock outs or excessive surplus.

? Analyze sales data to anticipate future needs - identifying any critical parts/long lead time items and ensure these are prioritized.

? Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals, lower min orders quantities and improved/consistent lead times.

Maintaining Inventory Accuracy and Control



? Setup and coordinate cycle counts from ERP system - run reports to measure stock accuracy and highlight discrepancies between physical count and system quantities. Organize and carry out stock checks as required.

? Investigate discrepancies to determine root cause and recommend corrective action.

? Report on inventory levels in collaboration with operations across all physical warehouse locations (Central Store and Lineside) to identify potential aged inventory, calling out inventory risk and arranging disposal.

? Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures.

Leadership and Teamworking



? Collaborate with other staff to ensure business goals are met.

? Report to upper management on stock levels, supply and supplier issues.

? Lead and motivate a small team to achieve excellence in workshop service and support all distribution channels with a first-class fulfillment performance.

Systems and Processes - Configuration and Maintenance



? Develop SOPs governing purchasing ordering, receiving, putaway, storage and cycle counting, selection, "put to workshop location", returns, additional issues, running MRP, scheduling and rescheduling works orders and other key tasks to ensure control and consistency in application is achieved.

? Assist with the development and maintenance of the Priority system covering key functions of Purchase Ordering, Works Orders, Warehouse Management, Materials Requirements Planning and Stock Counts.

? As the business continues to grow, evaluate tools that help the team drive bottom line growth, improve customer service and keep staff safe.

Job requirements include:

? Proven experience as inventory manager or similar position - 1-2 years of supply chain or inventory analyst experience.

? APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), CSCMP or CCLP is preferred coupled with "hands on" experience with inventory management.

? Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

? Excellent knowledge of data analysis, inventory management policy setting and forecasting methods.

? Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.

? Excellent organizational and planning skills.

? Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

? Reliable and trustworthy.

? Competency using MRP/ERP.

? A good working knowledge of WMS.

? Preferable a Lean or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above.

? Working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures relating to warehousing and workshop activities, help maintain a safe and efficient operating environment.

? Preference towards automotive industry experience.

? Some physical labour and other activities as required.
