About us: Garden Collective is Calgary's newest virtual grocery store. We strive to provide local, organic, high-quality groceries at an affordable price to Calgarians. As we are ramping up operations we are looking to add a team member to lead the picking and packing of our weekly orders. A large volume of our products are stored in a cold storage room at Deepwater Farms, a hydroponic company located in Northwest Calgary. This is where the Inventory Coordinator will primarily work out of and lead the first round of picking and packing for Garden Collective orders. Orders are first packed at Deepwater Farms and then transported to our facility located in downtown Calgary where the remaining items for an order are stored. Approximate Hours:

• Starting at 10-15 hours a week on Thursdays and Fridays - typically evenly split between the two days (with a plan to ramp up on hours week over week)
• Flexible start times ranging from 12pm - 4pm on each day based on availability and coordination with Deepwater Farm's operations

Inventory Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Validate accuracy of weekly wholesaled grocery products
• Pick and pack items for weekly grocery orders (largely refrigerated items)
• Identify and document the remaining items to be packaged into orders at the Garden Collective downtown site
• Identify and raise product quality issues as required
• Identify and raise product quantity issues to be addressed by the Garden Collective team
• Adherence to applicable Canada Gap processes as documented by Deepwater Farms
• Adherence to applicable Deepwater Farms cleaning and sanitization processes
• Potential for additional hours on the Garden Collective downtown site to support final mile packing and customer handoff for pickups on Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday
• Potential for additional hours to support in retail shopping to supplement orders
• Potential for ad hoc support in weekly wholesale planning based on previous week volumes (typically on Saturday/Sunday)

Requirements:

• Experience working in a grocery store or commercial kitchen environment, particularly in handling and storing produce and other grocery items
• Experience with Canada Gap and sanitization processes is considered an asset
• Able to commute to and from the Deepwater Farms site
