This Inventory Control & Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing the Niagara Falls warehouse activities and hourly team, the Inventory requirements, accuracy (systems and physical), Lot control, reporting and processes, (JDE, RFSmart, Operations, IT, Finance, Sales support) for the Niagara Falls warehouse. This role is responsible for identification and tracking of inventory and reporting on monthly inventory levels, KPI, IAR (Inventory at Risk), dead stock and obsolete items with the intent of determining potential reallocation to Asset recovery or disposal. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the facility warehouse with a focus on Health and Safety, Quality, Service, Continuous Improvement and Cost.

Key Responsibilities
Leading Niagara Falls Warehouse KPIs:
SAFETY:

  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing all Safety programs, policies, and training;
  • Ensure employees are complying to the Occupational Heath and Safety act and Regulations;
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order;

QUALITY:
  • Ensure quality systems, programs and policies are being followed;
  • Ensure compliance to ISO, HACCP;

SERVICE:
  • Ensure on time and correct shipping of all orders;
  • Ensure orders are accurate, investigate order discrepancies and establish corrective actions;

COST:
  • Deliver cost savings and productivity targets;
  • Build a continuous improvement mindset to identify supply chain opportunities and CI projects;
  • Plan labour to meet daily volume requirements.


Internal Inventory Control & Systems Compliance
  • Organize storage and distributions of goods to meet customer service levels;
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual reporting for inventory;
  • Lead Inventory control, Cycle Counts (Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearend), Domestic, Imports, BU from Ontario, Open Order, Open PO, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly cutover inventory reconciliations in compliance with Corporate inventory policies and practices and/or external regulatory requirements;
  • Oversee and monitors receiving and storage processes relating to packaging components, to ensure efficient storage and materials handling;
  • Monitor, report and prepare appropriate documentation for obsolete items, IAR Reporting, items deemed no longer usable, and overall inventory values and quantities as required;
  • Works closely with MPS Planner, MDC Manager to coordinate Warehouse space availability with production requirements;
  • Oversee maintenance of Warehouse Management System;
  • Manage noncompliant receipts;
  • Place product on hold when necessary Release product holds once compliance is in order.


Building Strong Teams:
  • Develop and coach warehouse teams to achieve goals and objectives;
  • Maintain good labour relations with union employees;
  • Manage and direct warehouse hourly employees; includes performance management;
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams;
  • Share best practices and learnings with other locations.


Lead Warehouse Projects
  • Lead key project implementations to improve warehouse operations. Projects include (Advanced Warehousing, etc.).


What you bring:
  • Completed or pursuing post-secondary education in a related field such as: Operations Mgmt, Inventory Mgmt, Logistics
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems an asset
  • Distribution Centre work experience an asset
  • Inventory Management experience an asset
  • Exceptional analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent skills for Microsoft applications including Excel, and Access
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a high paced, multi-task environment
  • Strong organizational skills
